Liriodendron Mansion Wedding VideographyBel Air, MD

I love weddings because it gives us a chance to contribute and participate in one of the happiest days two people will share. Amanda and Bobby were just bubbling over with joy on their wedding day. It was so exciting being there with them to capture those feelings. They are two super fun, eclectic, smart, happy people with big hearts. Their story is just as fun 😃

Bobby transferred to William and Mary and was approaching his senior year. He had just a few credits away from being able to graduate but had one conflicting Freshmen Philosophy credit that had not transferred. All he needed was the approval from a professor from his last school, but he was on sabbatical in West Africa with no internet access. How serendipitous this unfortunate circumstance was 😃 Guess who just so happened to be in this class?! Amanda was a freshmen and when she heard Bobby participate in class discussions, there was a flickering interest that grew for his intellect! She befriended him quickly and their interest for one another grew into love 😃

I can’t think of a better place to celebrate their marriage than the Liriodendron Mansion. It’s overflowing left and right with character, beauty and history full of stories. Amanda specifically mentioned a scene in the 2005 Pride and Prejudice where people are milling about, dancing, laughing, and enjoying themselves. The camera pans through these interactions and voyeuristic-ally shows the event. Amanda envisioned the same for their wedding and I thought it played out perfectly at the Liriodendron!

We hope this film will forever be a reminder of the memories they made that day as a newly wed couple 😃 Congrats Amanda and Bobby!!!!

The Glasgow Farm Wedding VideographyCourtney & Robert

I always love sharing the story of how each of our couples met. Every story is unique and makes creating their wedding video so much more personable. Courtney and Robert are such an adorable pair, and the story of how they met is just as sweet.

Courtney first started working in the same department as Robert when they met. She basically had eyes for him right from the start and knew she wanted to get to know him! She was new to the area, so she asked Robert at work if she could hang out with him and his friends over the weekend! Courtney really just wanted to get to know Robert 😃

As they hung out as a group, Robert couldn’t help but fall in love with Courtney that night. When he walked her to her car, they shared their first kiss!! They both instantly knew something was special about the other and have been in love ever since!

When I met with Courtney and Robert before their wedding, I immediately fell in love with them just as fast as they did with each other!! We had the best time all getting to know one another and learning about their wedding.

Arriving on the day of their wedding I felt peace and joy just radiating from both of them. There were forecasts of rain, but it completely stopped right before the (outdoor!) ceremony! Their moods were never dampened by the stress, but instead there was SO much excitement.

Courtney had gifts and letters and kind words for everyone she was with on the wedding day, and so did Robert! She even gave letters and gifts to her (soon to be) stepson – it was such an adorable moment! They were the most thoughtful couple I think I’ve ever met. They constantly were telling their loved ones how thankful they were for them, and how much they loved those around them.

I’m incredibly blessed to have had the privileged of capturing their wedding film. Congrats to the happy couple!

Seven Springs Wedding VideographyManquin, Virginia

When I found out Nena and Tre were high school sweethearts, I knew this would be a very special day. There’s something about meeting each other when you were kids and sticking it out into adulthood that’s incredibly endearing.

They were the most adorable, beautiful couple themselves, and their wedding day was more dreamy than I could’ve imagined. All of the days surrounding Nena and Tre’s wedding were cloudy, rainy or cold. Not only was their wedding day 75 degrees, but it even had a light breeze (perfect for video!) AND a beautiful sunny glow. It doesn’t get any more perfect! Could’ve been the buried bourbon they dug up for good luck’s sake 🙂

Driving up to Seven Springs made me feel like I was in some kind of charming 1700s picturesque scene with the tree-lined driveway and slate roofed manor house. It was a cinematographer’s dream! There were meticulously groomed box woods and bushes surrounding the estate creating distinct pathways to travel. You could even hear sheep in the distance baa-ing in their sunny little pastures!

Moving along into the bridal suite, Nena and her bridesmaids were getting ready and the emotion of Nena, being ready in her wedding dress with veil and all, made for a surreal moment. There was so much happiness and tears of joy that day!

The ceremony took place among trees in the shaded lawn. Nena’s aunt (who is the same age as Nena!) was the officiant, so it made for an extra sweet and personal ceremony for Nena and Tre. Can’t forget to mention the cutest ring bearer and flower girl running down the aisle holding the “Here Comes The Bride” scroll!!

There was never an unplanned moment because their coordinator, Christine from Wood Grain and Lace, had everything covered to a T. The entire vendor team, including their photographer, Meredith Ryncarz, made their day even more perfect. The floral arrangements by Amanda were overflowing with eucalyptus and rununculus, I just couldn’t get enough!

The party was started under the pavilion where friends mingled about and played lawn games before dinner. There was never a dull moment surrounding their day because there was so much genuine excitement for this sweet couple.

I’m honored to have been a part in capturing their day and I hope this film serves a reminder of how sweet the beginnings of their little family was that day! Cheers to Nena and Tre!

Meghan and Matt’s story is way too cute not to share! They met online, but not the typical way you may assume. Matt was stationed overseas, but being thousands of miles apart, they were enrolled in the same online course. As they participated in discussions without ever having seen each other, they grew fond of one another’s intellect and ideas. Eventually Matt traveled across seas just to meet Meghan for the very first time!

Fast forward to the day of Meghan and Matt’s wedding. They chose not to have a First Look until they met at the alter. Matt was smiling ear to ear with excitement. As Meghan walked down the aisle it wasn’t just a smile, but pure JOY. Tears of joy filled his eyes! What a beautiful moment — I’ll never forget!

We had never been to University of Virginia before but it was gorgeous! The surrounding scenery with all of the classical architecture perfectly matched Meghan and Matt’s timeless style. They set out romantic classic books for the table centerpieces, along with my favorite flower of all time — peonies!!

To start the party off, Meghan and Matt had an incredible first dance they had rehearsed, and all of the guests followed along with them after their great performance!

I’ll never forget the love they had for one another and how calm each of them was the entire day. It was a grand celebration but felt so intimate at the same time. We were honored to capture it all!

Congrats to the happy couple!

The Glasgow Farm Wedding VideographyFredericksburg, VA

This film is something entirely different to me because it’s my baby SISTER’S wedding! Being the Maid of Honor, I didn’t know how much I would be able to capture since it was so busy on the wedding day, but keeping my camera close, I took any shot I could when time allowed it. I even snuck a camera in my bouquet as I walked down the aisle so I could get a shot of the processional!! Being in the wedding party as opposed to being the designated videographer took me out of my normal zone on a wedding day. The change of perspective really made for a unique film that I’ve been so excited to share.

Just to share a bit about Ellie and Josh’s love story and how it all started…Ellie came to live with me her freshmen year of college in Richmond, VA. We lived in this beautiful building called “The Gramercy” of which Ellie and Josh met for the first time. We lived on the 2nd floor, and Josh lived on the 1st. They had “love at first sight” as Josh saw Ellie coming down the stairs that semester in college. I always thought they were just friends because they acted like they had been best friends their entire lives, but there was more to their relationship that grew deeper over the years.

Ellie is the youngest of all 5 sisters in our family (all girls, yes!) and the last to get married! My parents own a wedding venue – The Glasgow Farm – so they basically had the wedding thing down to a T! Unlike most weddings that happen on the farm, Ellie and Josh had different plans for the backdrop of their special day.

The ceremony took place hidden in the forest where you had to walk down winding paths through a beautiful yellow flower meadow to get to. There were light rays streaming through the trees as Ellie walked down the field escorted under a white tent carried by family members also carrying lanterns. It was so magical!!!

The reception took place in the field, right where Ellie and I used to explore as children and pick yellow flowers and feel like we were lost in another magical world far away from home… It was surreal having such a celebration in middle of where we made so many cherished memories!

The tables were setup in long rows with magnolia garlands streaming across each. String lights that were hung all around the field and over our heads made me feel like I truly was in another world! There were flower arrangements hung on trees, lavender lemon homemade soy candle favors lit at each table, and lanterns my dad put together by hand months leading up to the wedding!

They only invited their closest friends and family members, so I feel like it was a big dinner party where everyone knew everyone! We danced the night away under the stars and big bright moon, and felt so full of joy just seeing Ellie and Josh madly in love. My heart was so full, I will never forget the feeling.

John Marshall Ballrooms Wedding VideographyRichmond, VA

Kelsey and Nick met through mutual friends in Tulsa, OK while going out with friends. He was in his first year of law school, and Kelsey was in a Teach for America program. At first he didn’t seem interested and then out of nowhere, he asked Kelsey on a date! Two years later, out of surprise once again, Nick proposed to Kelsey!

The first time I spoke with Kelsey on the phone about wedding videography, I couldn’t get over how sweet this girl was! It’s such a joy to make work with two people so in love with each other and so excited to have their day filmed! We later had a Skype session with both Kelsey and Nick before the big day, and my goodness are they the most adorable couple! I knew their big day would be something special 😃

The day of the wedding, Kelsey and Nick were both nervous and incredibly excited to see each other. We were able to get them to speak (separately) to the camera right before the first look, to say what they would like to say to each other in that moment. It was SO sweet! And then the first look happened — !!!! Nick was over the moon for Kelsey. They both cried, laughed and had a sweet moment together. In times like those, I love giving the couple a second to actually be together as opposed to flooding them with the camera. It’s such an exciting moment that they deserve together!

Centenary United Methodist church was such an inspiring piece of history. The vaulted ceilings and detailed architecture was breathtaking. I love when couples get married in century aged churches because there’s just SO much history there.

Following the ceremony was their reception at The John Marshall Ballrooms where they celebrated with family and friends. I felt like I was in the roaring 20’s with all of the glamorous features of that building left and right! We were able to find the John Marshall Hotel sign at sunset to get a quick timelapse of the clouds. I went to college in Richmond, VA (VCU, woo!) and always loved that sign. I knew I wanted to incorporate that into the video because it’s a great feature of the hotel that they will always remember.

Back inside they were dancing the night away with family and friends. Their marriage was such a happy occasion, the joy was contagious to all who came! We were incredibly honored to have been there to capture it all.

Congrats to the happy couple!!!

Keswick Vineyards Wedding VideographyCharlottesville, Virginia Wedding Videography

When I first spoke with Lauren about videography, I was SO excited. They are both such unique, creative and super fun people — I knew working with them would be refreshing and exciting! Lauren has always had a vision for her wedding from the start, so it was a treat getting to collaborate with another artist!

Lauren owns a boutique in Richmond, VA – Addison Handmade & Vintage – which explains why her wedding dress in particular was so prettyl! She actually worked on the dress herself – isn’t it beautiful?! She also handmade all of the hanging wreaths for the reception, and rented some really great pieces of furniture from Mad Hatter Vintage.

While being a drizzly day, I thought it was the most beautiful backdrop with the fog over the mountains and wind moving through the vines. Lauren and Brian were SO excited the whole day from start to finish – no cold weather could have dampened their cheerful moods! Keswick Vineyards had a great layout for them to setup their celebration. With the help of their wedding planner, Kelsey, their day ran smoothly and joyfully!

I’ll never forget the genuine love they had for one another – it was adorable! There was so much excitement between the two of them while standing at the alter during the ceremony – I loved being able to capture those sweet moments for them to have later on.

Enjoy!

Blue Toad Cidery Wedding VideographyRoseland, Virginia Wedding Videography

It’s not every day you work with such great people with big hearts. I knew Kelly back in high school – we used to carpool to school in her little old Volvo! Kelly is one of those kinds of people that when you think of her, you automatically smile. It doesn’t seem possible for her to be any happier, and then Steve came along! Seeing them together, married, on their wedding day was an absolute fairy tale!

Kelly and Steve are two huge adventurers! It’s so adorable when you see two people with the same interests come together as one – like they were made to be together. Besides their love for hiking big beautiful mountains, they both love Jesus and above all, want to glorify him in everything they do, especially their marriage together.

The day couldn’t have been more beautiful itself. With the mountains as a backdrop to their ceremony, and the cool breeze that chilled the air later in the night, it was a dream! Blue Toad Cidery was such a fun venue and fit them perfectly. They had a nice cocktail hour located at the cidery, with the reception that followed just steps away. Everyone danced the night away outside under the string lights and starry night sky. There were people of all ages – young and old – who constantly had smiles on their faces. It was a joy to be a part of!

There’s only so much emotion you can feel from photos, but through moving images with sound, I hope they can relive their wedding day over and over again, feeling those same emotions even years from now. Congrats to Kelly and Steve!!!!

Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Wedding VideographyRichmond, VA

Last year, Ashley reached out to me about wedding videography. As soon as I saw her email pop up in my inbox about her wedding, I started to get EXCITED! Ashley is an incredible artist, has great style, and loves good FOOD! So I knew her wedding would be a dream to capture and participate in!

As if she wasn’t already the sweetest creative bride who couldn’t get any better, she then went on to tell me the details of her day. Specifically that she would be having her ceremony at the church she grew up going to (St. Peter’s Parish Episcopal Church in New Kent, VA), which was also the church George Washington got married at! How cool is that?! It was so fun looking around at the historic details and architecture, all being lavished in beautiful garlands of magnolia they strung for the big day!

Not only is Ashley an artist, but Taylor is too! So the fact their reception was at The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond, VA was a perfect fit for them! Every detail about their wedding was thought out in such detail.

One of my favorites were the wedding favors: oyster shells painted gold that held Ferrero Rocher chocolates and a small pearl! The backdrop of paintings and sculptures surrounding the wedding guests made for a sophisticated, classy, and yet intimate wedding.

As if the wedding day couldn’t have gotten better… Ashley and Taylor came out for their First Dance at the end of the cocktail hour, unannounced, and performed their well-rehearsed Tango Dance!! Ashley had told me they were doing a special dance, but I didn’t know the extent of how amazing it was going to be until they started! It was quite the surprise to the wedding guests to have such an entertaining, theatrical show as the start to an eventful evening!

We loved being there to witness and capture all of the memorable moments of their wedding day on film. The grandness of their wedding will stay in my memory for a long time. We hope this wedding video will serve as a unique reminder of the day they came together as husband and wife!

Ashley and Justin | Longwood UniversityFarmville, VA

Ashley and Justin were such a sweet couple to work with. Before they started dating, Justin used to ask Ashley for girl advice because her really valued her wisdom. Little did he know that the most encouraging girl he knew would later be his wife! They are such a perfect match and truly wanted to honor Jesus in their wedding.

Ashley is a wedding photographer herself, so I knew her wedding would be filled with color and excitement. She struck gold with the vendors she chose because each and every one of them made their day so special! Kat from Dear Sweet Heart Events was a great coordinator to work alongside. She treated every wedding guest and vendor with kindess and filled the place with happiness! everything from the dress, hair styling, accessories, flowers, and DONUTS(!!) was just perfect!

Thank you Justin and Ashley for including me on your wedding day, it was an honor!
