Farmington Country Club Wedding VideographyCharlottesville, Virginia

Suzie and Patrick…. How do I even begin to describe them? I love how the wedding day, and also the rehearsal dinner in this case, you can learn so much about a love story in a small span of time. For Suzie and Patrick, listening to bits and pieces of who they are individually and as a couple from family and friends, proved how madly in love they are to one another.

But looking back, that discovery for me happened when we recorded their letters on the wedding day. Both Suzie and Patrick unknowingly wrote to each other about the day of their engagement, and what monumental day it was. They both had tears of joy reading those letters to the camera. And I had tears of joy just editing and weaving it all together as one.

Not only is their love story beautiful, but the wedding day at Farmington Country Club in Charlottesville, VA, was just as romantic. It was the same place Suzie’s parents were married 33 years ago! It was also a special place to Suzie because she used to go there as a child and explore the grounds. When we were taking a few shots next to the old ice house, Suzie told us that she used to play in that very spot as a child. It was sweet seeing her with her new husband in a place that she had known for so many years, but now coming back as a different person and starting fresh memories together.

There was live music all evening, a beautiful sunset filling the sky and casting a soft light over the mountains, and loved ones full of joy for the newlyweds. It was a grand day, and I was incredibly honored to create a film that commemorates their story. But no matter how much goes into making a film or how beautiful the day may be, the people – the couple – are what shine through and make it truly, the most magical. And my heart is happy knowing they can look back and listen to those letter readings, or their vows to each other – for the rest of their life.

Congratulations Suzie and Patrick!

Mount Ida Farm Wedding Videography

I knew Marie back in high school and when she reached out to me about doing wedding videography for her and Kyle’s wedding, I was so excited! She’s such a sweet person, and a fabulous artist herself! She also does wedding photography, so she knew the name of the game when things started to roll on her wedding day! 😃

Their wedding took place at Mount Ida Farm, with the reception in the Event Barn. The ceremony took place overlooking a beautiful pond surrounded by rolling hills of vineyards – it was so picturesque! I loved the little ring bearer and flower girl holding the “Here Comes The Bride” sign – since Marie is also a school teacher, it was sweet having small children there to celebrate with her and Kyle. All of the details and destinations chosen for their day matched Marie and Kyle so well, it was a joy to capture!

They had a great vendor team that made their day incredible!

Liriodendron Mansion Wedding VideographyBel Air, MD

I love weddings because it gives us a chance to contribute and participate in one of the happiest days two people will share. Amanda and Bobby were just bubbling over with joy on their wedding day. It was so exciting being there with them to capture those feelings. They are two super fun, eclectic, smart, happy people with big hearts. Their story is just as fun 😃

Bobby transferred to William and Mary and was approaching his senior year. He had just a few credits away from being able to graduate but had one conflicting Freshmen Philosophy credit that had not transferred. All he needed was the approval from a professor from his last school, but he was on sabbatical in West Africa with no internet access. How serendipitous this unfortunate circumstance was 😃 Guess who just so happened to be in this class?! Amanda was a freshmen and when she heard Bobby participate in class discussions, there was a flickering interest that grew for his intellect! She befriended him quickly and their interest for one another grew into love 😃

I can’t think of a better place to celebrate their marriage than the Liriodendron Mansion. It’s overflowing left and right with character, beauty and history full of stories. Amanda specifically mentioned a scene in the 2005 Pride and Prejudice where people are milling about, dancing, laughing, and enjoying themselves. The camera pans through these interactions and voyeuristic-ally shows the event. Amanda envisioned the same for their wedding and I thought it played out perfectly at the Liriodendron!

We hope this film will forever be a reminder of the memories they made that day as a newly wed couple 😃 Congrats Amanda and Bobby!!!!

Keswick Vineyards Wedding VideographyCharlottesville, Virginia Wedding Videography

When I first spoke with Lauren about videography, I was SO excited. They are both such unique, creative and super fun people — I knew working with them would be refreshing and exciting! Lauren has always had a vision for her wedding from the start, so it was a treat getting to collaborate with another artist!

Lauren owns a boutique in Richmond, VA – Addison Handmade & Vintage – which explains why her wedding dress in particular was so prettyl! She actually worked on the dress herself – isn’t it beautiful?! She also handmade all of the hanging wreaths for the reception, and rented some really great pieces of furniture from Mad Hatter Vintage.

While being a drizzly day, I thought it was the most beautiful backdrop with the fog over the mountains and wind moving through the vines. Lauren and Brian were SO excited the whole day from start to finish – no cold weather could have dampened their cheerful moods! Keswick Vineyards had a great layout for them to setup their celebration. With the help of their wedding planner, Kelsey, their day ran smoothly and joyfully!

I’ll never forget the genuine love they had for one another – it was adorable! There was so much excitement between the two of them while standing at the alter during the ceremony – I loved being able to capture those sweet moments for them to have later on.

Enjoy!
