Emily & Qiang | Waterperry Farms Elopement VideographyCharlottesville, Virginia

Emily and Qiang had such a sweet, intimate elopement and celebration this August! If you listen to their story told in the film, you’ll learn that they both grew up in opposite sides of China, but they didn’t meet until they had both moved to the US to go to school at UVA. Qiang just so happen to sit down next to Emily at the school’s orientation, and the rest was history!

The gardens at Waterperry Farm was the perfect place to seal their vows with such a gorgeous backdrop. My favorite part of the day was when Qiang saw Emily for the first time – he couldn’t stop crying – it was so sweet!! They are such an adorable pair.

They wanted their families to be a part of the celebration, but because of COVID-19, they were not able to come. I was so incredibly thankful to have a part in creating the memory of this sweet day for their family and friends who couldn’t come. It was such an honor, and we are just so happy for Emily and Qiang as they embark on this new chapter together!

Celestial Inspired Styled Shoot at Great Marsh EstateWarrenton, Virginia

It’s not often you get to work with such a talented team creating art with freedom and room for experimentation. During the off season I always enjoy collaborating with other artists, and this shoot was one I will never forget. First, Carrie from Type A Society beautifully crafted this celestial inspired shoot with Nikki Santerre which included 2,000 votives across Great Marsh Estate’s lawn. There were so many elements a part of this shoot I adored – like the robe from Girl and A Serious Dream, the floral design by Wild Pollen, and even the birds flying in the sky as the sun set. It was all so thrilling and inspiring to edit this year to feed my hungry creative soul during this pandemic!

Alex & Tyler | Great Marsh Estate Wedding VideographyBealeton, Virginia

Alex and Tyler met through a mutual friend and dated for 4 years before becoming husband and wife! I love their proposal story because it involves a sweet family tradition that will continue for years and years.

A tradition Alex loves each Christmas is picking out a (real, not fake!) tree as a family. Tyler caught on to her love for this tradition, and decided to propose while picking out their first tree together at Moose Apple Christmas Tree Farm in December 2018. Now every year they can relive that sweet memory while they pick their tree! I love when proposals involve a tradition you can continue, or a place you can go back to to celebrate every year.

Over the years they’ve been together they’ve moved and built a new house, become dog parents, and planned a wedding during a pandemic!! They had to postpone their wedding from May 2020 to July 2020 and go through what has felt like the most unpredictable time to get married: Cutting down the guest count, adjusting to the state mandates…But they did it! It was the most stunning day, and I can’t imagine them having it any other way. They were so in love and happy to finally be married, and we were so thankful to have been a part of their wonderful day.

Cheers to Alex and Tyler!

Sam & Meredith | Waterperry Farm ElopementCharlottesville, Virginia

Our 2019 wedding season was brought to a close with Meredith and Sam’s elopement. It left my heart feeling full of joy & contentment. That “I could do this forever” kind of feeling because it was just so inspiring. I’m not sure where to begin with their story or how to describe their wedding day because it was so special in every way.

First off, let me tell you a little about Meredith and Sam! Meredith is a photographer, and Sam is a filmmaker. They actually met because of being in the same (wedding) industry! When Meredith first reached out to me about documenting their elopement, I was SO honored! They are incredibly talented at what they do, I was so excited to work with like-minded creatives on their most special day!

They had just a few friends and family at their elopement, so it was truly an intimate celebration being surrounded by their closest loved ones. They were only engaged for a little less than 2 months, but managed to plan the most beautiful day within such a short time frame.

I can’t not mention how insanely gorgeous Waterperry Farm is. This was our first time shooting their and oh my goodness! It’s magical! With such an amazing breezy day (I think it was somewhere in the 70’s!!), this place was a heavenly oasis – so perfect for an intimate elopement. Their dinner gathering took place inside the green house at sunset surrounded by gardens, mountain views, and the tables were filled with lovely bouquets by Mallory Joyce.

Although the wedding day was perfectly stunning, their hearts were even more so. The love in their eyes for not just one another, but for Jesus! There will never be anything more beautiful than witnessing a richly blessed union like theirs. We were so honored to have had a part in it!!!

Congrats Meredith & Sam!!!!
